Service to Self

Which path have you chosen?

Service to Self?  Or Service to Others?

I’ve been reading David Wilcock’s new book, The Synchronicity Key, in which he shares some powerful messages from the series known as The Law of One.  His work has helped me gain greater understanding of the two paths, “Service to Self” and “Service to Others.”

Here’s my understanding of these two concepts:

“Service to Self” and “Service to Others”

are not about putting yourself first or last.

They are about how you treat other people and

how you treat yourself.

They are about how you follow your Soul Path.

The end definitely does NOT justify the means,

and …

it never did!!

So many of us have been conditioned to believe that it is “wrong” or “sinful” to put ourselves first.  Women, in particular, have had an extra dose of this programming, but men, as well, have been taught this.  Yet putting yourself first at least some of the time is essential if you are to be healthy – mentally, emotionally, and physically, and I encourage you to take this very seriously.  Unless you take care of yourself and fill yourself up with energy, light, and love, you have nothing to offer to others, and that’s a fact!

“Service to Self” refers to treating others badly in order to fill yourself up and to get what you want on your path.

“Service to Self” is about seeking to CONTROL others, to MANIPULATE them, to FEED OFF THEIR ENERGY, to STEAL THEIR PERSONAL POWER.

If these are the methods you use to “get ahead” or to create relationships or for any other reason, then you are enmeshed in a “Service to Self” pattern.

Now you might immediately respond with, “I would never do any of these things,” and I believe that you believe what you tell me.  However, I would urge you to closely examine your motivations and methods in all you think, say, and do.

First, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of lying to yourself.  We’ve all done it.  When we fail to recognize our true feelings, such as shame or fear or jealousy, we end up believing that our motives are pure and we justify our behaviors on that basis.

Second, “Service to Self” is often rationalized.  We want to “get ahead” rather than “get a heart” about most things in life.  We see what others are doing and tell ourselves that “if so-and-so can do it, so can I.”  We rarely ask our Soul or I Am Presence to point out to us when we have stepped into “Service to Self” patterns.  We may allow greed and dishonesty to override moral principles and our sense of integrity.

Actually, if you find yourself needing to “justify” to yourself anything you’ve said or done, let that be a signal that there may be a hidden agenda – a feeling or belief that it would benefit you to uncover and heal.

Here are a few examples of Service to Self;

  • Judging or criticizing someone to make you feel better about yourself.
  • Gossiping.
  • Bullying or manipulating someone into doing what they don’t want to do.
  • Telling lies or blaming someone else for something you don’t want to own up to yourself.
  • Dumping your anger on someone, even when what you are angry about has nothing to do with that person.
  • Rape, incest, physical and emotional abuse or torture of any kind.
  • Calling names.
  • Treating another as a non-person, even if that person is perceived to be “the enemy.”
  • Stealing other people’s energy, money, property, or anything else that belongs to someone else.

“Service to Self” takes you away from the Light and Love of Infinite Consciousness so that you’ll experience darkness and lovelessness.   Darkness and lack of love become the prods that you’re giving yourself to change your direction to the path of Love and Light.

You experience greater darkness because, when you are treating others badly, you are also treating yourself badly, as Infinite Consciousness does not distinguish between you and anyone else.

This is experienced as karma, a feedback loop through which whatever you have done to another will be returned to you in some form.  Of course, you may not recognize the synchonicity in karma, but it is definitely there.  Infinite Consciousness recognizes that there is no separation between you and anyone else, so you will receive a karmic return for all that you think, say, and do.

I have been binge watching David Wilcock’s Wisdom Teachings on They are fascinating. I am currently reading his first book The Source Field Investigations. I also have his other book, The Synchronicity Key. I have also read the first volume of The Ra Material: The Law of One. Such great stuff. It all has reminded me of our class on the 5th Dimension and how that all fits together. Love it!

      Hi, Suzanne,

I’ve also read David Wilcock’s Source Field Investigations, which had powerful information in it. I have the first Ra Material book, but I’ve found that one hard to get into. Yes, these books support what I’ve been learning in other places. Isn’t it fantastic that all the pieces of the gigantic puzzle of human history are finally emerging and coming together? What a complex tapestry.

For me, it’s important to understand the true science as it emerges, as we need to bring together the right and left brain functions with the heart, and to shift the heart into dominance where it belongs.
