Helping Your Animals Through Challenging Times

Dog and man hugging.

If you’re feeling stressed, your animals are also feeling stressed.

And even if you’re perfectly calm with no fear or anxiety about the rapidly changing world we live in, your animals are feeling the general stress of humans around them, both inside and outside your home.

How do I know this is likely to be the case?

For one thing, my own animals are more stressed these days, and my home is a calm spot because I’ve set it up to be that way.  Plus we all meditate together daily, which greatly reduces stress.

Secondly, I’ve had quite a few calls from clients in the last two weeks with aggression problems among their animals.  In some cases, mild aggression has gotten worse.  In other cases, aggression has shown up unexpectedly among animals who previously got along beautifully.

What can you do to help yourself and your animal companions?

Flower Essences can be used to shift your own energy, shift the energy of your home, and shift the energy of your animals from tension, stress, fear, and worry to CALM, RELAXED, and PEACEFUL.

The most famous flower essence formula is RESCUE REMEDY, and it’s perfectly designed for these stressful times.

Rescue Remedy is trademarked by Bach Flower Essences, but the same formula is available as 5 Flower Formula from Flower Essences Services (FES).

If you can’t find either of these easily where you live or can’t wait for the shipping time when purchasing online, or if you find the additional cost too much for you right now, there is another way to go.

You can actually make yourself a formula using words on a piece of paper with a glass of water sitting over them.  In the PDF file below are complete instructions for making this formula.

How to Make Your Own Flower Essence Formula

Once you have the flower essences, there are many ways to use them.

MIST THE FLOWER ESSENCE AROUND THE HOUSE

You can change the entire energy of your home by misting each room – about 1 spray towards each wall or corner.

I do this once or twice a day, whenever the energy of my home begins to feel too intense.

Even if you don’t notice the difference, your animals will feel it immediately.

TAKE SOME YOURSELF.

Take 4 drops under your tongue  as often as needed.  Don’t touch the dropper to your lips or mouth.

GIVE SOME TO YOUR ANIMALS.

For bunnies, gerbils, cats, dogs, and other small animals, you can put 4 drops into your animal’s food and water twice each day to help them relax even more.

You can also put some onto your fingers and wipe it onto their ear pads, over their lips and noses, and onto their foot pads.

If an animal doesn’t like any of these spots, you can put the drops into the palm of one hand, rub it onto the palm of your other hand, and stroke the animal just like you’re petting him/her.

In a barn, you can mist your horse’s stall, their grain, and even their hay.  You can spray some onto the palm of your hand and wipe it onto a horse’s muzzle.  Putting it onto their food would also work with llamas and alpacas.

For birds, you can put some into their drinking water.  If there’s alcohol in the remedy, let the water sit in the open air about 10 minutes so the alcohol evaporates.  You can also put a few drops onto a bird’s skin right above the beak.

Can animals experience ongoing symptoms of trauma and stress? Yes! And Animal Communication and Energy Healing can help!

Animals can help humans who experience trauma, and we can help animals who experience trauma.

Today, many rescued animals experience symptoms similar to post traumatic stress. They need help to heal before they can integrate into your family. Animal Communication and Energy Healing are two powerful tools to assist them.

Why do so many animals experience symptoms of stress and trauma today?

Many of the reasons are similar to those experiences that can cause similar symptoms in humans.

~~ Too early separation from the mother dog, cat, or horse, for whatever reason.

~~ Separation from their human family due to hurricanes, storms, flooding, fires, earthquakes, and other weather or earth-changing event in which people and their animals can become separated.

~~ Being shuffled from one rescue place to another in the genuinely loving effort to find the rescued animal a new home.

~~ Traumatic loss because the family is no longer able to keep the animal due to financial and/or health changes.

~~ When animals are dropped off at shelters or abandoned without explanation, they are confused, scared, hurt, angry, grieving, and afraid – just to name a few emotions that come up for them.

~~ When the shelter is one that kills animals after so many days, the animals know they might be killed, and the spirits of other animals killed there may be lingering, making the situation even more uncomfortable.

This is not a complete list, but this list illustrates that one or more of these experiences may make integrating into a new loving family a challenge for the animal you’ve so lovingly adopted.

The good news is that animals can recover from symptoms of  stress and trauma.

When you adopt an animal from a rescue facility, you may not realize immediately that the animal is having difficulty adjusting.

I’ve had clients ask for my assistance after struggling for a year or more to connect with a cat or dog or horse who has experienced a traumatic event.

These clients are good, kind, loving, nurturing people who have tried everything they can think of to help their new animal companion adjust.  Often they have been pouring love to an animal who is not open to receiving it.

Of course, the sooner you ask for assistance, the sooner you and the animal will begin to build trust and open a loving connection between you.

When an animal is emotionally shut down, afraid of experiencing yet another loss, and/or distrustful that this will be their “forever” home, something else must be added to the equation to assist them.

Whatever history you have about the animal is also a very important piece of the puzzle.

Using my Animal Communication and energy healing skills, I can offer you and your new companion special assistance.

Over several sessions, I am able to establish a rapport with an animal who is very shut down.

It can actually help me connect with them because I’m not physically present.

Working from a distance, I can easily make a telepathic connection, which some animals experience as less intrusive than a human stranger being physically in the animal’s space.

Furthermore, telepathically and energetically …

~~ I can feel what the animal is feeling because I’m a strong emotional empath.

~~ I can feel if the animal has a huge wall around themselves, or just needs some additional reassurance.

~~ I can feel if the animal is distrustful and can suggest ways of building trust.

~~ I can often feel if the animal is hiding something or lying to me and/or to themselves.

~~ I can ask other animals in your family for any insights they want to share, assuming they have already met the new family member.  These often prove to be of immense value in understanding what’s going on with an animal who is too closed down to share very much.

~~ I can scan the animal energetically, with the animal’s permission, to pick up energy patterns in their auric field, chakras, and physical body.

Once we have a better understanding of what’s going on for that animal, we together develop a plan of action.

~~ Sometimes Flower Essences are a good way to start.  I am able to suggest appropriate essences to assist you and your animal companion(s).

~~ As a Certified Practitioner of The Emotion Code, developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, I know what a valuable tool this is for assisting an animal with post traumatic stress.  (This system has also been shown to be effective with humans.)  Releasing emotional blocks and reducing or eliminating walls around their hearts will bring about huge healing shifts.

~~ As a Certified Multidimensional Healer, I work with healing teams from Source to remove the energy patterns of trauma, repair chakras and other damaged areas, assist the animal’s bodies to rebalance, and bring the animal into a space of harmony, peace, and openness to their new life circumstances.

~~ I may also refer you to other practitioners who offer many other alternative services that will assist the animal, such as acupuncture, chiropractic, Theta Healing, and basic training for dogs and horses.

Having a “plan of action” helps you and the animal know what next steps to take and have a sense that there truly is hope of healing the animal and the entire situation.

Have you recently brought home a new animal or are planning to adopt from a rescue place?

If so, keep in mind that while coming to your home is the best thing for this animal, in some cases you many need to take some extra steps to help the animal integrate and become part of your loving family.

How does ENERGY HEALING help you feel better, relieve pain, and assist humans and animals to heal? This ancient technique of healing has amazing benefits.

Energy Fields surround us.

We all live in overlapping fields of energies.  These fields includes your physical body, your auric field (which consists of 6 additional bodies), electromagnetic fields that emanate from your organs and other body parts, and the energies of everyone and everything around us, including the earth.

Since everything is energy, including your consciousness, you might wonder how healing can ever happen without paying attention to the energy aspects of your bodies.

What Is Energy Healing?

Energy Healing is any healing method which
helps restore and maintain
the energy systems of  your bodies
by working directly with the energy of your bodies.

The term “energy healing” is used  today for what has also been called “hands-on healing”, “spiritual healing”, “psychic healing”, and even “energy medicine.”

In energy healing, a wide variety of techniques can be used.  Whatever techniques are used, they directly address the energetic levels of your bodies.

While tools such as stones and crystals, acupuncture needles, pendulums, singing bowls, and others can be part of a healing session, many practitioners use only their hands and their intention to facilitate a healing.

Clean, pure, love-filled energy (life force, prana, chi, ki) is made available to the bodies, while inappropriate energies are assisted to leave the bodies.

To be healthy and in balance, your energy must be able to flow freely, smoothly, and harmoniously.

What Can Disrupt the Energy of Your Bodies

Infection, injury, toxins, stress,
too much or too little of any substance
are all examples of events than can  disrupt your bodies’ energies.

When you’re sick, it’s because the flow of energies has been disrupted, causing some areas to be jammed up with too much energy while others areas are depleted.  The disruption can come from accidents, infections, emotional traumas, and many other stressful situations.

Several things can happen during an energy healing session to restore the smooth flow of energies.  Here are some common examples.

  • Disorganized and chaotic energy patterns become organized and harmonious.
  • Blocked energy flows are unblocked.
  • Sluggish energy flows are restored to normal speed.
  • Depleted energy areas are assisted to regain a normal, healthy level of energy.
  • Excesses of certain types of energy are reduced to normal.
  • Disconnections between the spirit and body parts are reconnected.
  • Communication breakdowns between body parts are restored.
  • Energy that doesn’t belong is helped to leave the body.
  • Repair the physical body’s etheric blueprint (template).
  • Repair, balance, and harmonize the chakras.

Some examples of energies helped to leave are:

  • viruses, fungus, bacteria.
  • memory patterns of old injuries.
  • memory patterns of weapons from this or past lives.
  • emotions that haven’t been fully expressed.

These are just a few examples of what energy healing can address.

What Do Energy Healers Do?

Energy Facilitators support the body’s natural healing abilities.

Energy Healers facilitate the healing process, which is done by the bodies themselves.  An Energy Healer is more accurately described as an Energy Facilitator.  They do not actually heal the body.  The body must heal itself.

The body, when functioning optimally, knows how to heal itself and how to restore balance.  It wants to be in balance and harmony and good health.

What Are Some Benefits of Energy Healing?

Here are some of the benefits you may experience:

  • Relief from physical/emotional pain and other symptoms.
  • Feeling increased relaxation and calm.
  • A reduction in your stress level.
  • Feeling empowered to take charge of your healing process.
  • A sense that your physical body is stronger or more able to cope with life’s challenges.
  • A sense of well-being, comfort, integration, and wholeness.
  • Feeling more at home in your body.
  • Feeling more energized and more playful.
  • Feeling more balanced and more grounded.
  • Improved appetite; greater control over unwanted habits.
  • Increased interest in life.
  • Increased immune system function.
  • Faster or more complete healing from illness, injuries, or surgery.
  • A feeling of greater alignment with your I Am Presence.
  • An opening to receive more Divine Love.
  • A sense of greater connections with the Divine or with your I Am Presence.
  • A feeling of greater alignment with your spiritual path.

A Basic Principle of Healing: “First, Do No Harm.”

Hippocates

Greek physician Hippocrates (460 BC – 370 BC) author of the Hippocratic Oath for Doctors.*

The Greek healer, Hippocrates, set the first standards for medicine in the form of the Hippocratic Oath.

A basic principle of that oath was

“First do no harm.”

This ethic is meant to be the guide for whatever intervention a physician or healer uses to assist a patient to heal because …

the actual healing itself is done by the body.

For example, you accidentally cut your finger.  You may clean the wound and put an antiseptic on it, followed by a bandaid.

None of these things actually cause the cut to heal.  That work is done by the physical body itself.

  • Cleaning the wound and using an antiseptic remove bodies that may interfere with the physical body’s ability to repair the cut.
  • A bandaid, or bandage, assists by keeping the cut clean, and may hold the two sides of the cut together, thus making it easier for the body to reconnect the tissues as it repairs the wound.

This is similar to how Energy Healing helps you recover from an illness or an injury.

In Energy Healing, the facilitator’s (healer’s) primary responsibility is to support the body’s natural healing processes.

This is done in a number of ways.

  1. Removing energy blocks that may interfere in the healing process.
  2. Supporting the body energetically so that it has the energy it needs to do the repair work.
  3. Communicating clear intentions to the body so it understands the expectations and goals of the person whose body it is.
  4. Assisting the body to let go of energy patterns that are interfering with the healing process, such as trapped emotions, limiting beliefs, and distorted vibrational patterns.

A healing facilitator communicates with expert energy healers in higher realms who may be able to see or perceive subtle aspects of damage that are outside the third dimensional reality.

Full recovery may require that those damaged area be repaired as well.

A well-known example of this type of situation would be a damaged chakra.

A chakra is a spinning wheel of energy. The most well known chakras are along the spinal column.

There are also many chakras of varying sizes throughout the physical and other energy bodies.  Some chakras are part if the meridian system used in acupuncture and are called “acupuncture points.”

When a chakra is damaged or functioning improperly, a complete healing outcome may be compromised.

Each chakra may be a slightly different size, color and complexity, depending on where it is located in the body and the services it performs.

Chakras are a basic part of the energy anatomy of all conscious beings.

Humans and animals have chakras, and so do plants.

Mother Earth has chakras as well.

Within the physical body of a human or animal, the various organs and glands have chakras specifically designed to keep each one in balance and harmony by providing essential “life force” to that part of the anatomy.

When my cat Violet was diagnosed with early stage renal (kidney) failure, I discovered that one of her kidneys had a chakra that was misaligned and wasn’t able to function properly as a result.

By repairing Violet’s kidney chakra with energy healing, I assisted her kidney to function better.  Using muscle testing, I was able to increase the energetic ability of the kidney to function by more than 50%.

This contributed to Violet feeling more comfortable in her body for a longer time than she might have otherwise.

In all types of energy healing, “First, do no harm” remains an essential ethical principle.

Self-Love: How do I love me?

Learning to love myself … seemed like a strange thing to do, at first.  Then I discovered that the old saying is true:

You can’t really love

someone else if you don’t

love yourself.

If my pot of love is empty, I have no love to offer another.

If my pot of love is partially filled, then giving away what’s there leaves me empty, exhausted, unsatisfied, and resentful, and feeling unloved.

If my pot of love is full to overflowing, I can generously give love to others.

For me to love me means I must fill my pot of love to overflowing.  Then I have plenty of love to share with others.

My pot of love.

If I rely on others to fill me up, I’m behaving irresponsibly.  I’m giving away my personal power by failing to acknowledge my own ability to take care of myself, as well as my worthiness to be loved.

When I say, “myself,” I’m not speaking of my “small self” or ego.

I’m speaking of my Divine Self, my I Am Presence.  I no longer see myself as small, helpless, and lacking in value.

I AM the Divine, and I have the POWER to fill myself up with Divine Love.

In this way, I acknowledge my ability to fill my pot of love to overflowing with the abundance of the Divine Love that flows infinitely from Source.

I have the power to fill myself up with love on a regular basis.

So …

How do I love me?

By resting when I need to rest.  By sleeping when I need to sleep.  By eating when I’m hungry, and eating what my body wants and finds nourishing.  This includes chocolate, by the way.  Chocolate is a “food group.”

How do I love me?

I fill myself by staying away from people who insist on being negative about everything, who focus on what’s wrong with everything, and who choose to see disaster everywhere.

By avoiding movies, stories, TV, news, and other things that are all about violence, abuse, and mistreatment of others when I myself am feeling vulnerable.  I already know that the 3-D world is filled with horror.  I don’t need it in my face as a daily serving of malnourishment.

I fill myself by training myself to shift to a positive focus regardless of the situation, to find the gifts and gold nuggets waiting for me everywhere, and to not allow energy vampires to feed on me.

Negativity is draining.

Positivity is filling.

I envison a world I am choosing to live in, one where love, harmony, compassion, tenderness, kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and mental/emotional sanity prevail.

How do I love me?

I speak kindly to myself.  I eliminate negative statements that are habits of thought.  “That was stupid.”  “What a dumb thing to do.  You’ve made a mess again!.”  These types of statements have no place in self-love.

How do I love me?

I tell myself the truth, even when I don’t like the truth.  No more secrets from myself.  No more lies to myself.  This is authenticity, and anything less creates holes in my pot of love allowing the love energy to drain out.

How do I love me?

I tell myself that, wherever I am, it’s the perfect place for me to be in this “now” moment.

Even tho’ my ego, my small self, may not know why I am where I am, my Soul knows.

That means there is more than one benefit to my being wherever it is.

So I seek the lesson instead of wasting energy in resistance or trying to run away.

This moves me through things faster and with less discomfort.  I focus on moving through the turn at the bottom of the curve and see myself emerging up the other side.

It’s like riding a horse.  If you look at the ground, that’s where you land.  If you look ahead, the horse and you fly smoothly forward to where you put your focus.

How do I love me?

I allow myself to be “wrong,” to make mistakes, and to know that I’m still learning, and that learning requires making mistakes.

When I am “wrong” about something, I admit it freely without guilt or recrimination.

How do I love me?

When I go into fear or anxiety, I wrap my arms around my inner child and comfort her with Divine Love.  Her fear and anxiety quickly begin to subside.  Then I get up and move around and do something, anything, to get my body moving.

I also have learned to use flower essences, supplements, and homeopathic remedies to help shift me out of dense emotional patterns.

How do I love me?

By giving to others what I truly have to offer, but only if those others truly want it in the moment I am able and willing to give it.

If someone wants something of me that I don’t have the energy or desire to give to them, I respect myself and them by saying. “No.  I’m not willing to do that.”

Anything else is inauthentic, and unloving to myself, and to them.

Have you checked in on your Pot O’ Love lately?  It it filled to overflowing?

Love is Golden
