MY MIND GETS IN THE WAY

It’s true that we each have limiting beliefs and old mental recordings in our heads on how to live our lives and how to make decisions. After all, we grew up in a society that still values reason and logic over emotion. Since emotion is associated with the Heart, many of us have avoided making decisions from the Heart because we’ve been taught that decisions should not be based on emotion. Many of us were told that making a decision based on what we feel in our Heart is just plain “wrong.”

As a child, I was taught that the only way to make decision was to use logic. When I tried to follow that “rule,” I discovered that my life wasn’t working out for me at all. Not only was I unhappy, but I or my horse, Echo, actually received physical injuries. It was a though the Universe was having to use a 2-by-4 to get my attention that I had taken a wrong turn.

These experiences taught me that I had to learn to live another way – a way that was aligned with my Higher Guidance and my True Path. I was being redirected to my Heart Center. I had to learn a different way to live and find ways to eliminate the old mental tape recordings of messages that kept me from living in my Heart Center.

Over the next few days, I suggest you start noticing the tape recordings in your head that play whenever you think about making a decision based on your Heart. Just notice them. Jot them down if you have a chance, and share them with me if you’d like.

The first step in turning them off is recognizing them when you hear them playing in your head. When you recognize and make note of them, you have already taken the first steps on the path to greater empowerment and greater connection with your Heart Center.

If you are interested in learning ways to free yourself of old messages and limiting beliefs, you might want to attend the free teleclass on “Heart Centered Living: A Transformative Process.”   This link will take you to a page with more details and where you can sign up for the class.

Kindness Begins With You Being Kind to You

One of the Heart Center’s most powerful emotions is Kindness.  It is also one least discussed.  Somehow we don’t think of Kindness as being very important or powerful, so it doesn’t receive much attention.

Yet I believe that Kindness is very powerful.

To be kind includes so many things:  being considerate of one’s feelings, being thoughtful of oneself and of others, treating someone gently, being helpful.

Kindness seems a difficult word to define, and yet when we are treated kindly, we know it immediately.

So how kindly do you treat yourself?

Do you forgive yourself when you make a mistake?

OR . . .

Do you beat yourself up with verbal barrages that would be considered abusive if you aimed them at someone else?

Do you actually cause yourself physical harm by having accidents or by doing things that are unhealthy, such as smoking cigarettes or driving recklessly?

Do you surround yourself with other people who treat you badly as a way of punishing yourself for transgressions only you know about?  Perhaps you feel this is the best you deserve?

What do you really think and feel about yourself?

Today you can resolve to be kinder . . . to yourself.  You can begin by monitoring the “mantras” you repeat to yourself – those thoughts that begin with “I am . . .” following by some negative thought or feeling.  Starting to identify these is just a first step.

Once you know what you keep telling yourself about yourself, you can take a second step.  You can change the message you are giving yourself.

I once heard myself saying, “I never have enough time.”  I said it over and over again as I raced along in my car to a job in Hartford.  Once I heard this message, I knew I had to change it.

The second step is to rewrite the message.  Stand it completely on its head.  Transform it into its opposite.  When I did this, “I always have enough time”  became my new thought.

How absurd that sounded at first.  “I always have enough time????? Am I crazy?”

Consider.  100 years from now what we do or don’t do today is not likely to make a big dent in the universe.  For the most part, it won’t be a matter of life or death.  For the most part, the biggest impact it may have is on how we feel at the end of the day.

The truth is that there is ALWAYS enough time.   The life of the Universe is uncounted billions and trillions and gazillions of years.  So is the life of each Soul, i.e., me and you.

From that perspective,  I can CHOOSE to let go of feeling pressured to rush around and exhaust myself.  From that perspective, I can prioritize the list of things I have to do and decide that whatever gets done is ENOUGH.  And whatever does not get finished or even started was not meant to be done today!

More importantly, when I change my attitude towards time, my experience of time changes.

Instead of rushing somewhere, I can decide that I will always arrive at precisely the right time for me to arrive.  That may or may not be the precise clock time I was told to arrive by, but it will be the perfect time for me to get where I am going.

Once I had this insight, everything about time changed for me.  I began trusting that “I have perfect timing” and  “I’m always in the right place at the right time.”

When I sent these messages to myself, I took back control over time.  I no longer gave time control over me.  I learned that I always arrive at the perfect time, and not one moment sooner or later.

This is an act of kindness.  It reduced my stress levels.  It heightened my sense of being aligned with the universe and with my personal path.  I stepped out of a victim role and took back my power.

You can do it, too!

Heal Yourself to Heal the World

December 11, 2008 by

If it is true that everything we see, hear, and experience in the world around us is a reflection of our inner world, then to heal the world around us we must begin with healing our self.  Now you may not agree with my assumption, but consider.

How many times have you found yourself with someone who irritates you intensely?  Every one of us has “buttons” that other people seem to push.  It may be a parent or other family member, a colleague or even supervisor at work, someone in our car pool, or even someone who “hangs out” where we hang out.  It doesn’t matter who this person is or where we come into contact with him/her.  The fact is, if you find the person irritating, infuriating, or just plan annoying, it is time to ask yourself, “What is it in me that this person is reflecting?”  Why am I drawing this situation into my life?

At first you might resist and hear a voice in your head respond, “I’m not doing anything.  I just don’t like him/her.”  Or you might hear, “That person is impossible.  S/he has to change, not me.”

Have you ever considered that the reason you find the person’s behaviors, attitudes, whatever to be so obnoxious and uncomfortable is that s/he is reflecting back to you some aspect of your self that you do not love?

The first step to getting rid of this situation is to open your Heart Center.

·         Take 3 deep, relaxing breaths.

·         Shift your attention to the middle of your chest where the Heart Center is located.

·         Imagine a beautiful flower there.  See it in your mind.

·         Imagine the flower opening to its fullest potential.  See it open.  Smell its incredible fragrance.

Now ask yourself some questions and write down whatever pops into your head.

·         Ask yourself,  “How is [insert name] a reflection of some aspect of me?”

·         Listen to what you hear without making a judgment about it.

·         Write down whatever comes to mind.  Write down the denials and write down the “ahha” insights.

·         Ask yourself, “Was there some time in my life when I behaved the way [insert name] behaves?”

·         Don’t be embarrassed if you hear a quiet “yes.”

·         Write down whatever you remember about that circumstance.  Perhaps you were a child or teenager at the time.  Even if this was 50 years ago, it’s still a part of you at some level.

Maintaining non-judgment and allowing detachment, look back at that time.

·         Allow yourself to feel compassion for the younger you,

·         Forgive yourself.  Repeat at least 3 times, “I forgive myself.  I forgive myself.  I forgive myself.”

·         Allow yourself to move out of judgment towards your younger self.

·         Imagine yourself embracing your younger self – putting your arms around him/her.

·         Offer her/him love without conditions.  Repeat at least 3 times, “I love you.  I love you.  I love you.  I love myself.  I love myself.  I love myself.”

When you heal this part of yourself, the people outside you will either stop doing the thing you dislike so much or, even if they continue, it will no longer be an issue for you.  Your button will be disconnected and you will have experienced a Heart-level healing.

On the website of Joe Vitale is a powerful and true story of a therapist who recognized that all his patients are a reflection of his inner beliefs.  He learned to heal his patients by healing himself.  I encourage you to visit this link and read about it.  It can change your life.

Speak Only Words of Love to Everyone.

December 10, 2008 by

This is the instruction I was given yesterday by my Manifestation Guide in a 7-Day Manifestation Online Workshop with Coco Fossland:

Speak Only Words of Love to Everyone.

My Manifestation Guide is my I AM Presence, the Divine Spark which resides inside my Heart Center, and who also is my highest vibrational aspect at a frequency just below that of Source.

How, my brain wants to know, does one speak only words of Love?

Does it mean to agree with everything anyone says?  Clearly not.

Does it mean to give everyone what they ask of you?  Clearly not – and impossible to do, anyway.

Speaking from the Heart Center means having an open flow of Love from the Heart Center to the Throat Center.  It means putting the intention of expressing Love in all the words spoken.  This means setting personal boundaries with Love.  It means speaking difficult truths with Love.  It means allowing kindness and compassion to flow with the Love.

The emotions or transformational tools of the Heart, as I called them in my blog yesterday on “The Heart Chakra”, all flow most easily together.  While we may speak of them as separate from each other, they are really just different aspects of one thing, like facets on a jewel.  You can look at each facet individually, but they are all contained in the same energy and none can exist without the other.

So my instructions for today are to have an open Heart Center with Love and the other Heart emotions flowing into my throat, which then must also be open and clear enough to pass the energies through to my words.

Quite a challenge.

The Heart Chakra

December 9, 2008 by
Filed under Age of Ascension, Heart Centered Living

The heart chakra is located in the middle of the chest.  It is the center of Divine Love in our 4-body system (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels, as they are called.)  The Heart Center is our place of healing.  WIthin it dwells our highest aspect that came into our physical form at the moment of birth.  This aspect has been called many things in different cultures, but I will call it the Divine Spark.

The transformative energy center.

The transformative energy center.

The Divine Spark resides inside a multidimensional MERKABA within the Heart Center.  When seen with the inner eye, the Divine Spark is a pure flame of white light.  It is our individual soul extension and is continuously connected to higher aspects of our Self that live outside the physical form.

When drawn two-dimensionally, the Divine Spark is shown to exist within a 6-pointed star.  While some call this the Star of David, it is actually a two-dimensional representation of a MERKABA VEHICLE.  (There is also a MERKABA surrounding our auric fields, but that is another discussion.)

The merkaba or star-tetrahedron.

The merkaba or star-tetrahedron.

The MERKABA is a sacred geometric form that begins to spin when we reach a certain point in our awakening process.  When it is spinning, is increases our personal power in many ways.

There are many other powerful tools of transformation in the heart.  These may be called the Heart emotions, but they vibrate at much higher frequencies than the emotions of the first 3 chakras.  The tools of the heart include:  Love without conditions, Hope, Compassion, Empathy, Forgiveness, Non-Judgment, Generosity, Joy, Peace, Gratitude, Enthusiasm, Detachment, and Communion with Oneness.

In the Hindu tradition, the Heart Center is drawn with 12 petals of a lotus flower.  Each petal represents a smaller vortex spinning inside the larger vortex of the chakra.

According to the ancient yogis, when the kundalini, (the divine energy which rests at the base of the spine until we receive spiritual awakening) rises to the heart chakra, we are able to transform our lower vibrational energies into higher frequencies.  The direct result of this transformation is to free ourselves from limitating emotions, limiting beliefs, and limiting thought patterns.  We become expansive, filled with creativity, love, light, and joy.

The Ascension process taking place on the Earth today is, in fact, awakening humanity by literally causing all of our cells, our DNA, and our 4-body system even to the atomic level, to vibrate faster.  This causes denser, lower frequency patterns to be brought to the surface of our awareness.  Things in our lives that made us uncomfortable can no longer be ignored because they are “in our faces.”  We may experience all kinds of symptoms at all levels, and Western medicine is not able to help us.  If we resist looking at and working through the patterns that are now intesified by the energies, we cause ourselves more pain and some even are choosing to leave the Earth plane rather than do the work to transform these energies.

The place to work consciously on whatever is arising for you is in the Heart Center.  There is not only the Divine Toolbox there, but also the Divine Self, who is ready to love, support, and encourage you, as well as to directly provide healing for this process.

Go into your Heart Center today and ask for assistance.  You will never be denied.
