Creating Peace Through Kindness

May I be at peace.

bamboo_peacePeace… Peace…  Peace.

What does it take to create peace inside you?

What will it take to create peace in your world?

To find the answer to the second question, we must answer the first question, for the world we see is a reflection of whatever is inside us.

Kindness requires that we sometimes be willing to look at unpleasant things, to acknowledge that they exist in order that we can change them.  To be kind to ourselves, we must explore the conflicts, the wars, so to speak, that are going on inside ourselves.

Some years ago, someone suggested I take any article on the front page of any newspaper and substitute my name for all the other names, male and female, human and organization.  After all, if we are truly all One being, then I am everyone and everyone is me.  I suggest you try this and notice what you feel when you do it.

For me, it was a very uncomfortable experience.  After all, I don’t see myself as one who performs horrendous acts on a daily, hourly, even weekly or monthly basis.  Yet what I discovered from this experience is that I’m not at all separate from what’s going on in the world.  I may not want to deluge myself with the horrors that are taking place all over this planet, but it is important for me to know that I am not separate from them, either.

No war ever created a lasting peace.

It doesn’t matter who starts the war, or who is the “victor” – we are all diminished by war, even when our country and our family and our friends are not directly involved.

In the Harry Potter books, Harry learns that when you kill someone, it damages your soul.  Now, I don’t know for a fact that this is true, but it feels true to me.  So I suggest you just consider the possibility that it might be true.   And what if it is true?  What does that do to all our justifications around war?

Consider the training that every military puts soldiers through so that they will kill on command.  It programs them to think of the “enemy” as monsters.  It programs them not to feel or think, just to obey the command to kill – and not just the enemy, but anyone who might harbor the enemy, anyone at all, really – men, women, children, the old, the sick, the dying, the infirm.

It doesn’t matter what the justifications are – I’m not really talking about that.

I’m talking about what it does to a person inside when they are conditioned to kill and to be in harms way for extended periods of time.  Is it any wonder so many soldiers come home after a war and struggle to restore themselves to live a peaceful life?  They not only have the scars of battle (physical, mental, and emotional), but they have the conditioning they received still in place.  Parts of them still know that killing for any reason violates higher law and no assistance is offered to help those parts find peace.

Most of you reading this are not soldiers.  You are like me – people who have never fought in a war … unless you count the inner battles and struggles we put ourselves through on a daily basis just living life.  Is that your war?

And if you believe it is a war that you are living, a struggle for survival, for food, for home, for family, for religion, for freedom, for personal growth or whatever, how do you find “inner peace.”

Daily prayer and meditation are two ways of creating greater peace inside yourself.  It’s been shown over and over again that when meditation is done in groups in cities where there is a high crime and violence rate, the statistics of these acts drop during the weeks when the meditation is happening continuously.

So why don’t we use meditation to create a peaceful world?

Do we even want a peaceful world?  Well, DO WE?

Our government doesn’t.  The corporations don’t want it.  It’s all about money.  Government and corporations don’t care about the lives that are lost, damaged, and destroyed on all sides.

Well, if you care, then you must begin with yourself.

  • Turn off your cell phone.
  • Close your eyes right now, please.
  • Notice your breath going in and out, in and out.
  • Allow your in breath and out breath to slow with each inhalation and each exhalation.

After 2 minutes of watching your breath in this way, scan your body.

  • Do you notice tension anywhere?
  • Has your mind stopped chattering?
  • Are you checking the clock to see if you still have time to do this?
  • Are you thinking about all the things you need to do today?
  • Have you resisted texting someone?

Unless you mediate regularly, this simple demonstration may surprise you in some ways.  You might have noticed yourself feeling or thinking one or more of these messages:

  • I’m not comfortable sitting still.
  • I’m not willing to turn off my cell phone.
  • I have too much to do to spend time doing this.
  • My body is too tense or tight to do this.
  • I’m not feeling peaceful yet.

If the last message came up for you, I would ask you to consider that becoming peaceful in our frantic world does require that we make some new choices.  You get the make the choices for you.  No one else can make them.

Inner peace is there, inside you, waiting to be discovered, waiting to be found.  It takes effort, self-discipline, and commitment to peel away the layers of obfuscation until you reach that central core of peace inside you.  It can be done, but only if you choose to do it.

So begin with a simple prayer:

Let there be peace, and let it begin with me.

May I dwell in peace.

May all others dwell in peace.

Peace.  Peace.  Peace.

If you choose to say this simple prayer every day, several times each day, you will not only be treating yourself and others with kindness, but you may suddenly discover a lightness, a feeling of happiness or joy, a feeling of peacefulness begin to emerge.

I encourage you to begin now.  Why wait?  You can even text it!

Divine Perfection

A few days ago I began having daily conversations with my I AM Presence.  Each conversation is guided by 6 questions designed to ask for guidance, support, and specific instructions.   My goal is to increase my alignment with my Divine Self and my Divine Path for this lifetime.

Today’s guidance is about Perfection.  One way to move us out of Judgment and into Non-Judgment is for us to recognize that ALL is PERFECT right NOW in THIS MOMENT.

I’ve been rushing around since I began Coco Fossland’s Wealth Manifestation Program in early January.  I have so much inspiration and so many ideas and so much to do, in addition to all the other daily things we feel we need to do each day (eat, sleep, that kind of stuff), that I’ve been feeling a mix of anxiety and excitement and enthusiasm and overwhelm.

Here’s what I was told today about how I am feeling, and about what I am thinking about how I am feeling:

“You are doing very well in meeting with me and listening, too, and then following through.  You are still challenged by other things that draw you away from my guidance.  The more aligned you are [with me], the easier it will be to stay aligned and to follow your path.

“PATIENCE – and – TRUST.  They really go together.  All things happen in RIGHT TIMING.  Time in 3-D is an illusion, as you are already aware.

“So don’t let time ‘get’ to you.  Be open to FLOW with the natural Tao of things. [See the blog on “Learning Fearlessness from Lao Tsu.”]

“Inspiration leads to Change.  You are changing.  The whole planet and all of humanity are changing.  But you are a ‘way shower,’ so you change first and faster.

“Surrender your illusion that it’s happening ‘too fast.’  It’s happening at a PERFECT SPEED!

“What is essential WILL be attended to.  What is not ESSENTIAL will fall away.

“Let go of your illusion of  ‘running really fast just to stand still’ [allusion to Alice Through the Looking Glass, by Lewis Carroll,  where Alice and the White Queen run madly and end up in exactly the same place].

“There is no requirement of this.

Then I was reminded of a Sanskrit prayer that I dearly love.  It is about perfection.

Om purnamadah purnamidam
Purnat purnamudacyate
Purnasya purnamadaya

Om shanti, shanti, shanti

Om.  That is perfect.  This is perfect.
From the perfect comes the perfect.
If the perfect is taken from the perfect
the perfect remains.

Om.  Peace.  Peace.  Peace.

The power of this prayer is that God is perfect and cannot create anything that is imperfect.

When we feel a loss or that something is “wrong”, we are caught in illusion.  We are forgetting GOD’S PERFECTION.

And WE ARE PART OF THAT PERFECTION.  We cannot be separate from it, because even when you take the perfect from the perfect, only perfection remains.

“Only perfection remains” refers both to the “original” perfect and to the perfect you imagine you have taken from the “original” perfect.

Therefore, bring your mind to stillness in the knowing that ALL IS PEFECT IN THIS AND EVERY MOMENT.   ALLOW PEACE by vibrating with the the thought of peace.

The glory of the Sanskrit language is that each syllable was discovered vibrating within our own chakras, heard coming from them by the great masters in the caves in the Himalaya Mountains.  These syllables actually vibrate at the same frequency as their meaning.

Therefore, when you speak the word “shanti” which means “peace,” you are sending out the vibration of peace from your throat and your throat chakra.  You are literally putting the energy of “peace” into the world.  If your Heart Center is also feeling peace, you are magnifying the vibration because you are adding other Divine elements to it.

Isn’t it wonderful?  It’s Divinely Perfect.

The Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is located in the middle of the chest.  It is the center of Divine Love in our 4-body system (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels, as they are called.)  The Heart Center is our place of healing.  WIthin it dwells our highest aspect that came into our physical form at the moment of birth.  This aspect has been called many things in different cultures, but I will call it the Divine Spark.

The transformative energy center.

The transformative energy center.

The Divine Spark resides inside a multidimensional MERKABA within the Heart Center.  When seen with the inner eye, the Divine Spark is a pure flame of white light.  It is our individual soul extension and is continuously connected to higher aspects of our Self that live outside the physical form.

When drawn two-dimensionally, the Divine Spark is shown to exist within a 6-pointed star.  While some call this the Star of David, it is actually a two-dimensional representation of a MERKABA VEHICLE.  (There is also a MERKABA surrounding our auric fields, but that is another discussion.)

The merkaba or star-tetrahedron.

The merkaba or star-tetrahedron.

The MERKABA is a sacred geometric form that begins to spin when we reach a certain point in our awakening process.  When it is spinning, is increases our personal power in many ways.

There are many other powerful tools of transformation in the heart.  These may be called the Heart emotions, but they vibrate at much higher frequencies than the emotions of the first 3 chakras.  The tools of the heart include:  Love without conditions, Hope, Compassion, Empathy, Forgiveness, Non-Judgment, Generosity, Joy, Peace, Gratitude, Enthusiasm, Detachment, and Communion with Oneness.

In the Hindu tradition, the Heart Center is drawn with 12 petals of a lotus flower.  Each petal represents a smaller vortex spinning inside the larger vortex of the chakra.

According to the ancient yogis, when the kundalini, (the divine energy which rests at the base of the spine until we receive spiritual awakening) rises to the heart chakra, we are able to transform our lower vibrational energies into higher frequencies.  The direct result of this transformation is to free ourselves from limitating emotions, limiting beliefs, and limiting thought patterns.  We become expansive, filled with creativity, love, light, and joy.

The Ascension process taking place on the Earth today is, in fact, awakening humanity by literally causing all of our cells, our DNA, and our 4-body system even to the atomic level, to vibrate faster.  This causes denser, lower frequency patterns to be brought to the surface of our awareness.  Things in our lives that made us uncomfortable can no longer be ignored because they are “in our faces.”  We may experience all kinds of symptoms at all levels, and Western medicine is not able to help us.  If we resist looking at and working through the patterns that are now intesified by the energies, we cause ourselves more pain and some even are choosing to leave the Earth plane rather than do the work to transform these energies.

The place to work consciously on whatever is arising for you is in the Heart Center.  There is not only the Divine Toolbox there, but also the Divine Self, who is ready to love, support, and encourage you, as well as to directly provide healing for this process.

Go into your Heart Center today and ask for assistance.  You will never be denied.
